Canon EOS 5D Price & Availabiltiy
Suppliers in the USA are taking orders for the new Canon EOS 5D. Currently, all suppliers (Amazon, B&H, Ritz Camera, J&R Music, CDW, etc) are showing the same price - US$3,299.95 US$2,969.00. Delivery is being quoted as October and in some cases November.
A friend of mine living in Japan visited the Canon Service Center in Osaka yesterday. He reported that the reference price in Japan is US$3,600 with an estimated street price of about US$3,000. It appears that you will pay a premium of about US$300 just to be the first on your block with one! Check out this page from Canon Japan for more info on the camera in a very nice layout.
