Cover of ‘The Irrawaddy’

Cover of 'The Irrawaddy'Two photos from my recent trip to Myanmar (aka, Burma) in July 2004 were published in the June 2005 issue of The Irrawaddy. The Irrawaddy was established in 1992 by Burmese citizens living abroad and is not affiliated with any political party or organization. The Irrawaddy Publishing Group (IPG) is based in Chiang Mai, Thailand.

Both photos were taken with a Canon EOS 10D and a Canon 70-200mm f/2.8 IS lens. The cover is a composite of these two photos: (1), (2). I was invited to submit the photos but did not expect to see them on the cover! The second photo was also used in the body of the article. I prepared 1200×1800px tiffs at 300 ppi for high quality printing. Both photos were taken on the Plain of Bagan. If you are interested, check out my Bagan photo gallery on PBase.

Travel inside Myanmar was arranged by The Last Frontiers Travel Consultants.

Many thanks to Aung Moe Win, Layout & Graphic Designer of The Irrawaddy Publishing Group.
