Rosy at Autosalon 2005
Regular readers of this blog know that I was back in the USA for the first two weeks of November. During my trip, I had chance to visit both coasts. Shortly after my return, I started existentializing about what my life would have been like if I had never moved to Asia. How I could have become a bazillionaire by flipping condos. Or, I could be living in a million dollar house that I bought with no money down. Not that my life here is so bad mind you.
Well, yesterday I visited the auto show at the Singapore Expo to see which of the local models got called in for booth duty. There, I ran into Rosy leaning on a motorcycle. I got to looking at her eyes (not to mention to rest of her) and that got me thinking again. Maybe, it’s not so bad here after all. OK, you mention Southeast Asia to anyone in the USA and they start yawning or remember that they need to run home to clean their close – but who cares? Singapore is the ultimate east meets west – and, we got enough west here for now. Just the right amount. I’ll stay for a while longer. Thanks, Rosy!
I used a Canon EOS 20D with a Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 lens or a Canon EF 85mm f/1.8 lens to photograph Rosy. I wanted the quality of bokeh that you can only get from shooting with a Canon prime lens nearly wide-open. A Canon Speedlite 580EX flash was used in fill mode (Av or Tv) on some shots to open up the shadows a bit and neutralize the convention hall lighting.

By the way, I sure like those short black skirts! Danielle has one also.
Note: Chatting with Rosy at CommunicAsia 2007, I found out that she actually spells her name ‘Rozi’. I am leaving the spelling here the way it is for now – changing the URL and keywords means losing traffic to this site.
