Bibble RAW Conversion Software
This week there have been two new press releases concerning Bibble. The first announcing that Bibble Labs has licensed Noise Ninja image noise reduction software to be incorporated in new versions of their RAW workflow software. The second announcing a cross-licensing and co-marketing agreement with Kodak. Bibble Labs is licensing to Kodak the Bibble RAW format library and conversion engine. In return, Kodak is licensing two proprietary technologies to Bibble Labs, the Kodak Colorflow Color Management Module (CMM) and the Kodak Colorflow ICC Input API. New versions of Bibble Pro will integrate both of these technologies to create a best practices data path for generating digital photos optimized for KODAK output systems (printers).
I have previously posted positive comments about Bibble Professional Workflow software. I have only run comparisons with RawShooter and Adobe ACR. CaptureOne is overpriced in my opinion and therefore not an option for me. I like the color and clarity of the 16-bit tiffs generated by the Bibble software from Canon RAW files. In addition, the Bibble Highlight Recovery tool eliminates the need to do exposure bracketing. The Bibble GUI (layout) could be better but I have adapted to it. Kudos to Eric Hyman and his team at Bibble Labs for the outstanding progress. In the software business, either you evolve or die.
