Canon EOS 30D Prices - Singapore vs USA
The largest camera suppliers in the USA, Amazon.com and B&H Photo Video are still showing prices of US$1,399.99 and US$1,399.95 respectively for the Canon EOS 30D body but no stock yet!
There has been plenty of stock in Asia-Pacific since March 1st. Buyers in Singapore are paying from S$2,260 to S$2,300 including GST for the body-only. Converted to US dollars, the pricing here is nearly identical to what’s quoted by Amazon and B&H. Also, Canon Singapore has been adding in freebies such as a Lexar 1GB 80x CF card and a Canon Lens Book III. The show is over so I expect the freebie offer will be withdrawn soon.
If you are from outside Singapore, you can get the 5% GST refunded at the airport. However, be aware that a Canon EOS 30D body purchased here comes with a Singapore-only warranty.
