How to Make a Canon EF 500mm f/4 IS Lens
The Canon Museum has posted a superb video on how they make the EF 500mm f/4 IS L-series prime lens. The lens is comprised of thirteen groups and 17 elements. More than 100 types of raw material are used just to make the glass! Watching the technician assemble the lens is really incredible. The video makes me want to run out and buy one.
