Canon Digital IXUS 980 IS – Now with Full Manual Control
Pre-Photokina, Canon launched the IXUS 980 IS which replaces the IXUS 960 IS. Gone is the titanium body. Not a mention of it in the press release!
The resolution, however, moves up from 12MP to nearly 15MP. The processor changes to the DIGIC 4 and a viewfinder has been added. That’s not all. The lens goes to wide-angle. And, the IXUS 980 IS includes a Manual Mode that allows full control of shutter speed and aperture – a first for the IXUS line of cameras.
What’s missing? Got RAW? No RAW. ISO range is the same (80-1600). Same sensor as the IXUS 960 IS with more megapixels. With technology improvements that usually means similar noise levels.
