Watershot 450D Housing for Canon EOS 450D/XSi
Watershot Inc has announced their first offering for the underwater photography market – the WDS-450D housing for Canon EOS 450D, also known as the Digital XSi Rebel in the USA and Kiss X2 in Japan.
The WDS-450D is machined from a solid block of aluminum. It features a standard flat port and zoom gear for the 18-55mm lens, hand strap, two optical strobe bulkheads and leak sensor. The company says this housing offers the precision build quality of brands that cost twice as much.
Watershot has developed a unique zoom/focus gear system that utilizes a flash shroud. This shroud prevents the possibility of ghosting by blocking light from the camera’s internal flash.
The WDS-450D housing is rated for up to 60m/200ft and is S-TTL and DS-TTL compatible with INON Z-240, D-2000 series, and Sea & Sea YS-110a strobes via a fiber optic connection.
The standard WDS-450D Kit features a Standard Flat Port, 18-55mm zoom gear, 2x optical ports for external strobe connectivity (optional electrical sync port coming soon), Watershot bayonet port system for easy port removal/replacement, hand strap, removable camera tray, leak sensor, and full access of controls.
The list of compatible lens is quite limited so check the chart before ordering.
